The Conference Board of Ordained Ministry has responsibilities for the recruitment of those discerning a call as clergy in The United Methodist Church and the world and for nurturing the journey toward licensing or ordination. District Committees on Ministry (dCOM) are an extension of the work of the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry. The dCOM maintains a list of all persons who have declared their candidacy for the ordained ministry and are pursuing candidacy studies, offers counsel to candidates regarding pre-theological studies and offers supervision of matters dealing with candidacy for the ordained ministry and with the license for local pastors.
For more information on the work and responsibilities of the Board of Ordained Ministry, please see The Book of Discipline ¶635. If you have any questions about The Uwharrie District Committee on Ministry please contact the dCOM committee chair, Fred Carpenter.
