The Missional Engagement Team serves to connect congregations and disciples with their local communities and the world at large. They work to resource, equip and connect churches together and to their communities in order to better engage in missional outreach. While coordinating with traditional work areas of  Disaster Response Ministry, the Mission Response CenterBuilding Teams, and other historically related ministries, the mission engagement team also seeks to encourage new and creative ways of building relationships with the least, the last and the lost. Our current emphasis is with church and school partnerships and Congregations 4 Children.

The three primary goals of the Missional Engagement Team are to offer leadership, promote connection, and provide communication for each church in the Uwharrie District. We provide missional engagement information through the district's Vital Web newsletter, Facebook, and at various district events (such as Cluster Charge Conferences, District Laity Training). Additionally, the MET offers opportunities for local churches and Missional Networks to host learning and discussion opportunities regarding topics such as church/school partnerships, poverty awareness, and feeding ministries.

Some of the ongoing Missional Engagement partnerships in the Uwharrie District are:

Soul Food at Grace Place

Open Hands of Davidson County

Anson/East Union Crisis Food Pantry
